Video art project that emerged during the unprecedented challenges of 2020. Created by the MART Foundation and led by Anastasia Vorotnikova, the project features collaborations with renowned ballet artists performing in iconic Moscow museums, including the Tretyakov Gallery, the Museum of Moscow, and the Garage Museum of Contemporary Art. Through this multi-layered synthesis of dance and digital art, we explored the resilience and enduring power of art to fill cultural spaces with new meaning, even in times of isolation.
Slalåm is a compelling video-art project that delves into the intricate dance between fear, circumstance, and decision-making. Centred on the journey of Alena Zavarzina, an Olympic snowboarder and 2014 World Champion, Slalåm explores the profound moments of choice and transformation that define our lives. Following Zavarzina's unexpected retirement from competitive sports in 2018, this project captures her internal struggle and the path to overcoming her fears to make the most pivotal decisions. Slalåm is a narrative of resilience, introspection, and the human spirit's capacity to navigate the slalom course of life’s uncertainties.
This video-art project exemplifies the foundation's commitment to pushing the boundaries of artistic expression. Miracles aims to create a multidimensional experience where dance and visual art converge, offering audiences a profound and immersive artistic encounter.
